For those of you who are citizens of this lil place we call the United States of America, I wish you the best and safest holiday weekend. For me it will be time to be with family, cooking out, and swimming in the backyard pool. When I think of what freedom is, I am certain that my daily walk as an American is not as grateful as it should be. I'm reminded of our freedom to speak as we wish with no governed sanction that says I can't say this or that. The freedom to live where I choose and to own land, build a home, and to work among my peers. We have opportunity to go to college and begin any career we wish. We are not limited to how much money we can make. (tho there are some who tend to do that illegally.)
Even though we are in the midst of what the media calls a recession, and the fact that there are many people out of work, we are a rebounding country. We can survive. If we only fight for what is right, and make better choices for the future. It is the founding fathers that wanted the best for this country. Against all odds, they won the right to be here, and defended this country so that it could prosper and be fruitful. Today we still have men and women out there defending our country. They do it willingly, and they do it with great pride. I was there once, and I know how it feels. This country may not be perfect. No country is. But through all the trials and tribulations that hit upon us, we seem to come out on top. The only thing I see that is needed, is for our government to stand up and do what is right for the citizens of the United States, and to put aside any petty grievances so that our country can again be on top, and our people can feel at ease again.
One thing that I would like to mention, and this goes out to those in office of our country. Our country was founded on the fact that God would be included in all matters concerning this country, and that no decision, no matter how big or how small, was not to be made without the help of our Almighty Lord. I think now, since we see what happens when we let man do his own thing, that we should again have the leaders of our country to ask God for help in making our country strong again. Until that time, I think we will fall short of what our forefathers had intended for this country. And we will certainly implement plans that will hurt our people, instead of helping them. Look to your heart, and not to your wallet. Let God help, so that we all can help be a better country and a shining example to the world.
I wish you all the best, and hope that your Independence celebration is one of pride, hope, and TRUE change.
God Bless America.
T
