This was a painting that a friend and me had done of the same scene together. It was something that we wanted to do, in order to learn about certain painting techniques. This was not a total original idea, but it was altered from a previous painting that we were looking on. When complete, I wasn't satisfied, and added the warriors off to the left, and the Unicorn in the little opening on the bank. It made the painting more interesting afterwards. Even my friend enjoyed the difference between what we did. He did not dare to paint people. His landscape was perfect though.

Thank you. This one is still hanging in my work area/studio. I like it too. I will hate to see it go when it sells, but I guess I can paint a new one, eh?

Oh, wow. This is really soft and lovely the unicorn is so beautiful, and I think would suffice alone without the warriors. But they are also well placed and posed. I enjoy the large tree that sticks into the sky, it makes a good silhouette.

Like your friend, I've always stayed away from people in paintings. Although, I must admit, they sure do something for the painting, even though I think this would have lovely just as a pure landscape.

One of these days I'm going to have to break out of the mold and try adding people to a painting.

The painting itself was interesting without any figures in it. But I kept feeling as if there should be more. When my friend suggested that we do this from an old painting, I was not sure I could do it. Afterwards, I was glad to have tackled the project. The colors were surrealistic insomuch as they were vibrant. I truly loved the color of the water, and that orange tree that pops out at ya.

Yes, it does stand alone as a landscape. The original painting was just as awesome. I just have to paint people. It pains me when I can't paint a person in my work. I guess I don't find the challenge in just a landscape, though I have seen many artists do a marvelous job at creating such wonderful pieces to view.

Try it sometime. It is a challenge, and a treat.

beautiful painting, but why is the devart logo smack dab in the middle of it? it kinda takes away from the beauty of the landscape...

Sorry, but as I have seen, there are those who tend to want to walk away with the hard work that we do here. I was just trying to cover my bum on this one. The original is a near $2,000 oil painting, and I hate to think that any copies would get out there without proper funding.....If I could change the situation for this deviation, I might do it. I agree, the watermark is distracting. But when you are like me, and others, self employed as an artist, you have to take some precautions.

I may change this later for you, so come back and check again.

Yeah I understand. It's too bad devart's copyright policy isn't more convienient for the artist's, isn't it?
